Results: '93 Camaro Z28 Vs. '91 SS 454

As you may recall, I created a post a couple of weeks ago about a race between my '93 Camaro Z28 and a guy at my school's '91 SS 454. The link to that is:

As you may have figured, we raced today (Aug. 14). We were followed by a group of fellow students in their cars, which I knew would draw unwanted attention, especially the FUZZ. Regardless, we went to a street which was long enough for a race, probably not much longer than 1/4 mile. We found a starter-man, and lined them up. The traction I got on the launch was oh-so terrible, probably due to the fact that I was nervous. He also got terrible traction, which kind of makes me wonder if he really knew what he was doing. Once my Z28 grabbed asphalt, however, I began to pull away from him. By half way through, I had around 3 car-lengths on him, and by the end, closer to 5 or more, and I crossed the finish victorious. I stopped the car, got out and went to shake the hand of the SS driver. The guy is a real A**hole, but I like to leave my races on good terms regardless of how the driver of the other car acts. Several seconds later, the guy I used for the flag-man come by in his truck yelling that the cops had been called by some semi-truck drivers across the street. Oh yeah, by the way, the street we were on was beside an Industrial Park, and the workers there did not the idea of us racing there much, but back to the point. I immediately saw a scene of Fast and the Furious play out in my mind as about 10 cars scramble vigorously out of the area. One of our "fans" was pulled over, but apparently the cops just asked him if he knew who was racing, and apparently/hopefully, he said "no". Regardless, this race was a great experience, even though it was illegal. It feels good to finally win a race. Long live the Camaro.
