Realistic goal?

I was wanting feedback on what i might expect in 1/4 mile times with my set-up. I just bought a 1994 Z28..its all stock except for i will be putting in 3.73's, Already installed a Flowmaster 3" catback exhaust, a cheapo cold air intake, a nitrous works 150 hp kit and a sticky set of tires. Any ideas, or guess what it might run? I myself am hoping to get a solid 12 second run..but would like an honest opinion. Thanks, from a newbie

Invest in some slicks or you may never see 12's. No matter how much power you can make, if you can't get that power to the ground, you won't go as fast as you would like.

Re: Realistic goal?

I agree on the tires or a good driver can do it on radials. I did it with a Stock LT1 T/A only mods were Flowmaster muffler, no cat, K&N filter + 125dryshot, 12.60@110mph on Kumho 17" radials (stock 3.23 gears also). Don't spray out of the hole unless you are hooking very well. Later

With a 150 shot I definitely see 12's. Just be careful as to when you engage the nitrous because it might just make you spin like crazy. Do you have a window switch for the nitrous?

Re: Realistic goal?

Years ago my younger brother had a 95 Z28 that was bone stock mod wise except for a wet 125 kit.

Car ran a best on stock tires 12.71(might be 12.81)@112.8 mph.

He hit is about 3500 rpm in first gear.

He then turned around and bought the car I own now and put Edelbrock shorties, Moroso CAI, BFG DR's and a wet 150 kit.

Car ran a best of 12.15@115.5 mph (previous run was a 117.1).

You should have easy 12's even with stock tires imo.

Re: Realistic goal?

Thanks guys. I will have a set of slicks on, and by the way I have an stock 4l60e. I have 3.23's in now and plan on having the 3.73's in by the weekend. So it sounds like 12's will be attainable...AWESOME!!
