I have seen non roll bar cars attach the shoulder straps to the rear floor between the rear seat and backrest.

There could be some legality if you go to a track since the only specifications for installing a 5 point harness is with a roll bar. If it doesn't function in the same way then it won't hold you in the seat.

Amazing timing, I just finished mine tonight. It wasn't hard at all, of course, my car is a dedicated race car with NO rear seat, so I took out the rear seat, used a 50point hex die and removed the rear seat belts. Then i simply used the rear seat belt locations to mount my 5 point harness in place. IT WORKS!!!

I also completely removed the stock belts to get them out of the way. When I'm driving around town, I'll just use the lap belt and use the 5 point when at the track.

So, IF you don't need your back seat, you are golden. OR if you can flip up the back seat to get belt access when racing, maybe you can use the same brackets.

GOOD LUCK!!

I don't think you will have a legality issue as long as you retain the stock belts. I have not seen a DOT legal 5-point harness so you would keep the stock belts anyway. I am guessing your car doesn't go fast enough to require anything more than the stock belts so I don't see a problem, but I am not a tech inspector.

from what I've see, you don't ever want to mount thbelts below your shoulders because in an accident, they will push down on you & compress your spine...
