Question about track preparation (VHT Track Bite)
Question about track preparation (VHT Track Bite)
I'm located in Eastern Europe and as you can imagine, there isn't any purpose built tracks and races are held mostly on airfields like this.
Does anybody know, if glue used for track preparation in US is the same as VHT Track Bite which they sell in gallon canisters or is it different stuff with same brand name ? If it's different, then can we use it anyway or will it not work for track preparation ?
And does anybody know if track bite can be home made, like octane booster ? It's ground transport only substance and takes awfully long to ship here. As it's just mix of chemicals, may-be it can be made by ourselves ? Any recipies ?
Thanks

VHT is what most tracks use for prep. It's also available in 55 gal. drums. Don't know about making it yourself. If you knew the chemical composition and the percentages of each component I suppose you could. I've often wondered what is in it. Smells like bubble gum to me
Is it exactly the same stuff in drums and canisters ? Drum I would have to ship from States, but canisters are available closer to me - just nobody can assure me, that it's as good for track preparation.
Does VHT have corporate website ?

Click on the wrist of the right hand where it says "VHT". Then "Specialty Products", then "TrackBite" (I think). Anyway, that's their web site and it's on there...somewhere.

Thanks, I got the anwer to my first question, stuff in canisters and in the drum is different substance.
But does anybody has any clue, how to make "home made" track bite ???
