question about my 2.73 gears

Last night at IRP I ran a best 13.8 @103 with a 2.2 60' time. I know I need to get the 60' time down but I am fairly happy with the time. Is this about normal for the 2.73 geared cars? My car shifts into 3rd at ~97 mph (I think). I was wondering if it is possible to keep my car in second and finish the run, or will I hit the rev limiter? It seems like if I could get a run in without shifting to 3rd right before the traps it would help quite a bit.
My car is a 2002 z28 all stock except the loudmouth exhaust.
Thanks
Dustin

I've held 2nd with my 2.73's, but only after I raised my limiter and played with shift points via LT1 Edit. That is about the only way you are going to do it. A few times playing around before I changed the PCM, I actually let off the gas and allowed it to shift sooner from 1st to 2nd and actually trapped a better MPH cause it was well into 3rd by the end of the 1/4. The ET sucked, though.
