The Quest for 9's continues

we (threadedtire) and I laid odwn OUR best to date at our Local SCC event last nite.

Had a race lined up with a ATRIM blown 5.0 and with the track being 54* I figured there was no way we were gonna hook.
The race for 150.00 off of a regular .500 tree redlights lose

When the tree came down and threadedtire let loose the transbrake the T-A responded with a 1.34 60' by far the best launch we ever had. She carried the wheels 2.5' up and set them down just before the 60' lights. The stang we were racin tree'd us w/ .700 to our .830 (no on wanted to pay for a redlight)
but we ran him down by the 1/8th mile and got to watch his catosrophic engine failure AKA. fireball in the mirror then axing the throttle @ 1000' Still ran a 10.08 @119.34

After this we decided to go for it but low bottle press and cooling track conditions slowed us to a 10.09@132.05 w/1.36 60' 1/8 th mile was way off 2mph and almost a tenth from the previous run.

All this with the .024 pills in it (175)
Not bad for a c306 cam stock headed 383

Just really happy about it so I'm braggin a bit.

That's the nice thing about NOS. It doesn't care if there's any head work or not. You do a lot of head work to help a NA engine breath since it's just a big air pump. When you force air into the cylinder with NOS, blower or turbo, all that porting doesn't matter.

I'm assuming your car is legal to run into the 9's? What about using a delay box to get a better light? Would it have been allowed in that race?

No we dont need or use any delay boxes. This was/is a street racing format that we do. www.streetcarchaos.net if youd like to check it out.

Basically we take the street race off the street and to the track. Our local US 41 lets us spot cars out run off the tree or off a flash light. Its really a lot of fun and whole lot safer/cheaper than tickets and towing all the time.

Dont get me wrong the heads have been ported and all but still have stock size valves.

And NO technically our car aint even legal to run 11.90's by NHRA standards

Now thats funny (beast) I do appreciate the compliment though

SHe has run as fast as 11.14 @118 on HP but that convertor was to loose for spray It was at 4400

we tightened it to 3800 and now she goes 11.20's at 119+

All this w/3.70 rears and 28" 10.5 Mickeys
