QA1 questions
For those of you that run the qa1s on the front for better weight transfer and track times, how is the shock when you crank the **** back up for street driving? Right now I have some Eibach Pro springs with stock shocks, and as you can imagine, my weight transfer is nowhere to be found. Even after taking the front sway bar off there's no difference. So I plan on running the qa1s and drag springs up front. What spring rating do I need, and how bad is street driving when you stiffen the shocks back up? Thanks for any help. Rick
So I won't be taking any turns at speed either. Did you go with the QA1 drag springs, and if you did, what rating? My car is full weight, does it make a difference? Thanks for replying.
full wt. probly go with a 300
I had mine scaled and went with a 275 and I had the stuts valves and dynoed.
The 275 on the street are kind of loose/bouncy....so I have heard I never drive over 45 on the street

Quoted because that is word for word my car. Just to clarify, I have the R series front shocks. Not sure about Ray.
From what I hear, the QA1 shocks can provide a very choppy ride no matter how soft you set them if they are paired up with Eibach drop springs. If this is the case, you may want to consider swapping some stock springs in the rear.
I have QA1s all round with Moroso 275# springs in the front and stock springs in the rear with no front swaybar. With all 4 shocks set at 6, its worse than stock but no worse than my old 86 Dodge Aries in terms of handling. Any higher than 6 and the car starts to feel real harsh especially at highway speeds.

I have 275lb Drag QA1 springs up front, 12 way QA1s on all four, non R series, with stock back springs. My fronts are set high at like 9 or 10 to compensate for no front say bar, the car rides terrible, very rough and bumpy. Once I get the front bar back on, I'll loosen them up, my backs are set at 3, any thing more than that and the rear end is really hoppy. My car isnt set up to handle turns or ride nice, never drove the QA1s with a front sway bar though
You guys are scaring me now.
I thought with the front QA1s and drag springs, you could have your cake and eat it too. Like I said, I have the stock 29k shocks on all corners, with the Eibach pro kit. Plus the suspension mods in my sig. Although the right rear airbag is not listed. The rear shocks and Eibachs are staying on for now. Maybe I'll just throw the stock front springs back on for now and see if it helps. I just don't want the front to sit to high, compared to the back. Anyone know what the stock rating is on the front springs? And if I do go with the QA1s, should I spend the extra money for the Rs? Thanks, Rick.
