Red face Please Help!!! Need Advice On Launching

I have 245/50/16 FireHawk SZ50’s on the rear, and track conditions are not good. My best 60ft is 2.614, 1\4 mile 14.695 @ 100 MPH . Just cannot get traction . What can I do to better my 60ft with my setup (I race again tomorrow)? How should I Launch? Is it possible to hit under 2 in the 60ft with these tires?

That's almost exactly what I run down here in Calgary, except I pulled a 14.5@100. I didn't know there was a track way up there. You have to remember we have very crappy elevation. Someone at the track last night had one of those converter things, and said Race City Speedway was currently sitting at 4700.

This is the first Drag meet here in 30 some years. It’s being held at the Airport, mainly the reason why such poor 60ft’s (its never been dragged on). A Viper did ¼ mile 15.5 with experienced driver, but the LS1’s are running 13.99-14.8. My first run was 16.2 (spun in third bad) down to 14.6 (still spinning in second). I believe I should be able to do 13.5 if I had experience. Its about 2200ft here. I am petty disappointed. Any help would be appreciated.

I have only owned my M6 for a week now (I had an A4 for the last 2 years).
Anyways, I went out racing the past couple days, and I am getting better.
I was told (by MANY people) to rev up to around 2000-2400 rpms, and ride the clutch out.
Don't just drop the clutch and go, but ease into the gas pedal.
I actually got out in front of a A4 Z28 with no spin last night practicing like this!
This was on the street, and I know that the track is COMPLETLY different, but practice makes perfect
I'm sure you already know this, but being nervous DOESN'T help for shat! Try not to think about it. It works for me.

Good luck!
