new times shouldn't they be better

I got back to track after adding gears and the lca's and drag radials I don't think my car picked up much though ran 13.40 @ 102 with a 60 of 1.96 before and know its 13.13 @ 104 and 60's of 1.86. I thought it should have been faster more like mid 12's what do you guy's think? mods below

Had 3:23's and yokahama tires before

What kind of tunning do you have?

With that cam and stall I would think you mph would be a lot higher

Were you spinning at all?

I'm not sure what to say!

That is way slow. You might want to make sure that everything is running right. The 306 might just be too big for an A4 with stock heads. If you ran 98mph stock you should be going much faster than 104 now. I would think you should at a minimum be able to go 108mph.

A cc306 is way to much cam for stock LT1 heads.

I wouldn't say that. 6spds seem to run pretty good with it. This car is my daily driver and I had absolutely no idle problems with the cam and only took it to the track a few times. With some 4.10's and lt's and some slicks the car definately would have had 11's potential.

Personally, my first question is what RPM your computer has your tranny shifting at?? Ask PROJECTZ28-(Brian) how much of a difference it made for him one night at ATCO.. On the stock heads I'd hope you are seeing upwards of 6100-6200 atleast before it's shifting. Brian told me his was shifting at 5800-5900 one night when his cc 305 cammed 96 was running 12.94@106. I suggested he shift it at 6200 and before the night was over he went from a best ever 12.94@106 down to a 12.57@109... Just a opinion on which I've seen results, Fred

It was 58 deg. with about a 10mph nw wind.
I have a non computerized 700r4 but I was shifting any where from 6400 all the way up to 7600 my best run was shifting 1-2 at 6600 and 2-3 at 7200. I know it probably sounds a little high but it seemed to like it.

Way too much cam for stock heads. I would buy some or have the heads Ported and on a flow Bench so you know exactly where you stand. I don't know If I would trust a shade tree mechanic porting my heads, there is alot more science to it than most people think. Your heads would need to Flow around 260 cfm intake @ .500 lift. Right now they are probably around 180 cfm intake @ . 500. Also make sure you have the right fuel pressure. With that cam it would be easy for it to run rich.
And if it is in the budget add some more cubic inches. It worked for me.

There is no reason to spin that high. I shift at 6200 (1-2) and 6500 (2-3). That much rpms and you will have parts sitting on the track very shortly. Try to reduce some weight and get the sixty foot times down. Wow.

Can 93s rev that high? I know the 94 and up can't go above 7000 rpms. I would say shift around 6500 on the tach, that should put you around 6200 or maybe 6300. Should be good point on that cam. Play around with it at the track, shift multiple different rpms to see what is faster. There should be a good bit more in that car, especially with that cam. Good luck!

I've got another set of heads I might have to try doing some work on. But I don't think I have to worry about over spinning the bottom end.(4 bolt, forged pistons, and a steel crank it's not going any where)
