New Setup, need advice...

I just got done getting my car all setup with a Vigilante 3200 stall and a Race-Built Trans (4L60e). The car drives sick as hell right now, I'm really impressed.

However, I haven't had much time and practive driving with the stall and my next track event is in a couple of days. The few launches I practiced I spun like crazy.

I'm on Dunlop 5000 sports, 245/50s. I used to cut a 2.0 60' foot on these street tires before the stall, which i thought was pretty good.

Could anyone with 3200 stall experience give me some tips on launching at the track? thanx a lot

Sorry. I am of no help here. With a 3200 stall you will probably sit there and roast the street tires. I would be looking for some drag radials at a minimum, ET Streets would be even better.

You will probably just have to feather it off the line and try to follow carsthat have slicks as the groove will be tighter. Of course that will hamper the value of the taller stall converter in the first place...

Just go and have fun.

Thanx for the advice Ted.

Would I be able to hook pretty well on say, BFG Drag Radials?? That is most likely the setup I would go with for a better tire. I'm too afraid that with E.T. Streets I will blow my stock 10 bolt, or is that something that I wouldn't have to worry about?

Thumbs down Load the rear end.....

I wouldn't worry too much about blowing your rear end, I know I know, they are the weak link when you start putting down some HP.

I have a 2800 stall. I usually just load the rear end by bringing the revs up to 1000-1200 RPM then flash to TC from there. This way you dont SHOCK the rear end. I run Hoosier QTP's, basically the same as ET streets.

Basically the reason why our rear ends go is guys with M6's and sticky tires dropping at 5K which shocks and slams the rear end.

By the way i drive BFG drag radials on the street and find they are very sticky. I suggest going with BFG's
