New setup!

I just switched over to a powerglide tranny, hoping for 6.5's @ 102+ mph in the 1/8, will see this weekend.

I'll be waiting for the results. I'd like to see if that "Glide" is going to help or hurt ya. Although I'm sure you'll find some tweaking to do once you get a baseline. Good luck.

That glide will be nice to have but damn does it need all of the gearing you can throw at it to get moving. Have fun

I was running a hughes TH350/4000 TC that was less then optimized and ran a best of 6.68@100.5 mph in the 1/8 mile. I now have a PG with custon built converter for my setup, and was told by a friend of mine who runs IHRA crate motor stock, that with the correct converter the car should pickup .15.

As for the gear, yes it's alot but not for the 1/8 mile.

Good luck randy.

Converter is critical as you know...who is your crate stock buddy? Darren?

I ended up going to ATi for a converter....... I need alot mor carb than what I have. And every week it gets cooler I run out of jet.

But Mine has only been 1.44 with the 28" and a 4.56 I was hoping for more but I am out of h.p. car is dead hooking

Jr Riener is the C/M stocker. He hs a 96-97 camaro with a fast burn 385 hp 350 that runs 6.60's on the bumper.

I'm sure once you get the right size carb, I'd say about a 950, it will fly. I've seen as much as 2 tenths by going to a larger carb.

Your car runs hard already, good luck with the new setup. How many passes have you made with your current build getting it dialed in?

Thanks Sean, the car did run well with the th350, but the converter had over a 1000 passes on it and it was an off the shelf piece so I think there was more on the table. The new converter for the glide was built to my specs and is spragless. I'm hoping for 6.5's and once I get a FAST XFI and dial it in, who know's it might run 6.3's, but we'll see. I'll keep everyone posted.

Well I finally got to go to the track today. The weather was OK, but not great and I ran a 6.665 @ 100 mph. This was at a TnT so the track prep wasn't the greatest. I still think there are some 6.5's in it, I'll keep everyone posted.

I got one timed pass in before it rained, 6.645@100.6 mph. The air again wasn't that great, it had alot of moisture in it, but I still think it has some 6.50's in it.

what did it pick up or lose from the th350?

I wont get rid of mine....I want a 2.75 gear set for mine and I will be in the 1.30's easy....I printed the same number 3 time today. 60' 660 and 1/4

The glide is roughly a tenth faster than the th350 in the same air. The th350 actually had slower 60fts, with more gear ratio, than the glide. If the car weighed less I could have used an aluminium high gear hub which would probably pick it up another .05, but I'm real happy with how it runs and on a bracket racing note I now only have to make one shift vs two and with less first gear ratio I won't have to worry as much about spinning the tires at marginal tracks.
