Thumbs up New PB today!

Finally, the track opened up this weekend.

13.31@100 was my best today with a 1.76 60'. Not bad for an 11 year old car that still has a stock internal motor.

I can't wait for the 3.73s to get in and hopefully drop it down to 12.90s. *crosses fingers* Those 2.73s are really ******* me down.

It was a great day indeed today at Byron Dragway. I ran 13.3xs all day, except for one 13.49 because I spun. It was very consistant surprisingly and I can't wait for bracket racing to start. I might be really deadly this year.

This is opposed to last years best e.t. of 13.58 but consistant 13.70s. So in my mind, I dropped .4 with the stall and sticky tires. Overall, I'm damn happy. And also proud to report that after owning the car almost 2 years, I have dropped it's 1/4 mile time down by a full second.

100mph?! 100mph?! you are running a full second faster than me and a whopping 5 mph... lol j/k nice job. now do some power mods and pick up some trap speed.

Not bad . Have you tried running it on street tires with the stall? It may spin a little more, but you'll probably trap higher ("sticky" tires slow you down a little).

Well, if you fill up the rust holes in you bird you might go faster. 3.73s should pick up that trap speed some.

Re: New PB today!

I hear ya. I just know that last year at the track, even with the 4.10's, my car was hooking up HARD off the line, to the point that the car would bog until it got some momentum (I need a stall). My buddy was getting rough launches with his M6 though, so we swapped tires (I was running BFG drag radials) and did a couple more runs. He got his bone stock '97 Z28 down to a 13.75 @ 100 mph, and I ran 13.02 @ 107.44 on his street tires!!! My 60' time was no worse than it was with the DR's on the car!? Yet, I'd only been running 106.xx mph, 'til we switched tires.

If you're bracket racing though, I agree, you definitely want sticky tires so that your traction is consistant (and consistantly good ).

Good luck with your bracket racing. Your car is almost exactly like mine, it's scary. These cars make god bracket cars, I typically vary only .03 throughout the course of the day. A couple of weeks ago, I ran five 12.89's in a row, LOL

Thanks man. I hope to do much better this year than last year. I made it to the quarter finals once and that was a great night. These do make pretty good bracket cars. Bad thing is, where I bracket race the most you start in the early evening and go until night. So as it gets progressively cooler, the car starts running a bit faster and faster. Just makes it a lil' harder to guess. Makes ya drive the car more.
