New LT1 Bolt on Best

I will spare the details but having to put back on a rocker after a record setting run is easier to do due to motivation! And that was the second time I had a rocker come off Saturday....

1.633
7.769
87.72
12.203
111.35
DA 759'
throwing a rocker off on the top end.

backed it up with the belt on:

1.605
7.757
87.56
12.219
113.23
DA 421'

Scales were not working, 3 weeks ago it was 3130 with driver, I guess it was about that this time with the addition and deletion of stuff.

The K-member, A-arms, QA1 shocks/springs, Headers help alot.
I took out the dual fan set up and put one 12" fan on it.
No interior, just the dash. No Interior means just that.
Swapped to a cloth manual seat.
HVAC deleted.
Removed some excess wiring that I didnt need.
Skinnies/fats, Warriors, of which are some of the heaviest on the market, probably will be switching to some lighter ones over the winter.
I made the LCA and PHR to be the lightest, not alot of savings but it all adds up!
And any other stuff I saw that was not needed....ie front sway bar, bumper supports, etc.....

I still run a full size battery since we do not run a belt, but on the 12.21/113 pass the belt was on....I am looking at other options about this, ultimately what ever is the lightest.

I can still see weight to remove.....then I could add back the carpet and some of the interior to squash some of the talk about it...but you know what, it's my car and I set out to beat the known record, that has been done so its gravy from here!!! Plus, this car is nothing more than a toy, I use it to race, ie it is just a track car that might see the street almost never....

Daumn Shon it's quicker then your old LT4 heads/Hotcam car huh? I know it's light and better suspension but hey it's a stock LT1. Nice times and I wish I could get mine down to 3100lb raceweight. Later Clint

Re: New LT1 Bolt on Best

I dont like the 1.62 60' so the sig is not showing the 11.89 pass, but I guess I should sense that is the actual record!

Getting it down that light has not been that hard, suprisingly....

Congrats man. I'm glad you hit your goal. I guess me and steve gonna have to stick a stock motor back in his car to have some more fun..hehehe. Congrats man. Hopefully you can stay on top as long as steve did.
