That looks like a good tire. I might look into a set of those when my Nitto's wear out.

I would wait until some people had a little experience with them first to see how well they hook.

That's not a drag radial. It's an ET Street Radial with a more agressive tread pattern than a regular ET Street.

MT doesn't even have them listed yet but there is a little blurb on the "what's new" page

And here's a quote from the link that you posted:

"The most exciting addition to our street tire line up is the new Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial, a D.O.T. approved street legal drag radial . This new tire provides great traction and acceleration on the strip and excellent control on the street. Available soon in sizes to fit most applications."

See where it says?:"a D.O.T. approved street legal drag radial "
How is that not a drag radial?

Looks like I'll need to get some 15" rims for the 275/60's. I'm in on these for sure. Maybe some sort of GP once they come out?

looks like a nice tire. i'm sure it will hook like a SOB for a drag radial, but depending on how long they last for actual street driving, i'll stick to a normal tire or nitto DR for the street and some ET streets at the track

Ive been reading up on several boards about the new MT Radial tires. They are a TRUE radial tire, not a radial slick, or cheater slick. Cooper Tire and Rubber company bought out MT not too long ago, and as they have a plant here where Im at, a few guys have felt of some of the rubber. They have said its very strange feeling, like no other tire rubber they have felt. I checked on a drag radial board, and they have said that they are to release a 275/50 or 60/15 at first, then by June or July have the full line out. Mickey Thompson has said they want to have the first drag radial car in the 7s! Watch out BFG! Thats pretty serious!

Kyle (cant wait for a set himself)

The MT Drag Radial tires are still a different product line so you can't call these "drag radials". These are MT ET street radials.

if Mickey wants to be in the 7's first they need to release these tires sooner then June.

i heard through the grapevine Big daddy in the drag radial mustang went 8.0x@181 this past weekend, albeit not in legal trim....but still.......

you are getting hung up on the tire distinction....just cuz it says ET Street doesn't mean it has a bias-ply sidewall

it has a RADIAL tire sidewall and has enough grooves in it to make it DOT legal. If it is softer/harder than a slick or whatever doesn't matter

It has a radial type sidewall so that is why its a legal radial

I still want to see the 26X11.50X17" ET Street myself. I need those for my 17X9.5" street rims. A 315/35/17 ET radial would probably beat the crap out of the current 315/35/17 Nitto Drags also.

INTMD8 on the board has them on his single turbo LT1 (the 17" ET Streets)

he just went 10.97 @ 140 with them

Didn't launch to hard with them, but he likes them
