New Bolt on best!

DA was over 2100'.
There is way more in the car but will be adding a few things before the next outing (Nov 5th).

It ran 12.5s all night with mid 1.6 60's. Best MPH was 108.39.

See sig for mods.

How much weight do you have removed and did you remove your belt for this run???

Re: New Bolt on best!

Belt was removed on all runs, worth 2MPH in the 1/4.
Scales at track said 3100ish without driver.

Re: New Bolt on best!

I hope by Nov 5th better air is here, that is the next outing.
For that trip it will have new valve springs, 1.6RRs and I hope an EWP.
We will probably be borrowing a VFN stock hood to replace my 'glass SS hood, that VFN one is much lighter!!

We might also have a larger sway bar on the back of it b/c it wants to dart on the launch, to the right, sway bar or air bag, not sure....

Re: New Bolt on best!

You should put a cutout on after the y-pipe as well. I can notice a big improvement when it is open.

Use an air bag. It will help a bunch and it's cheap & light.

Any ET reduction or MPH increase? Same day track results?

I ask b/c my other H/C car picked up nothing with different style of exhausts on it and I like this quiet set up!

Re: New Bolt on best!

Do you need an electric WP to run without a belt, I am going to the track next weekend and I was just gonna run a belt that bypasses the A/C and PS. What about the alternator. If I could just take off the belt all together that would be much easier.

LT1 WP's are cam driven, so the belt is not associated with the WP in these cars.
YOu should make sure you got a strong battery and run with out the belt, my car was ran 5 times back to back with no belt.

Actually I have yet to run at the track with the cutout closed.....it just feels so good with it open! I did a drop down with a friend who has a 12.8 second GTP and with it closed he beat me by a car, but with it open it was a dead heat and I edged him out very slightly until 120mph when we shut down. I do however feel a slight loss in low end torque, but I feel I more than make up for it at the top end.

IMHO, its something cheap you can do....and its worth the effort to give it a try since you are trying for the bolt on record.

EDIT: Look at the quote, I think I have a virus or spyware that adds that crap in.....lol.

Re: New Bolt on best!

I also see that you launch at like 6k rpm's, so the loss in low end torque shouldn't mean anything to you really.

Re: New Bolt on best!

Buddies think I should just drop my whole exhaust, from the y back so that would be like a cut out, which I may do just for the weight benefits more than anything...

Re: New Bolt on best!

What are you running those 4.11's in? 6k clutch drops sound like something big...
