New Best Time :d

I went to the track last night and I made two passes. First pass was a crap 14.7 because my second gear slipped HAHA!

The second pass I made I raced my buddies '02 Firehawk. Here are the times.

My Z28:
R/T .389
60' 2.112
1/8 8.969 @ 80.19 MPH
1/4 13.830 @ 100.93 MPH!

My Buddies Firehawk:
R/T .055
60' 2.025
1/8 8.583 @ 84.48 MPH
1/4 13.258 @ 105.32 MPH

I was very excited to hit a 13.8 on a stock car w/ cutout. The only thing I did differently was keeping in the stock air filter. I felt the car run better with the air filter then without it! I'm still trying to hit a 13.7.. I know the car can do it, I'm so close!

I got caught off guard on the launch so my R/T suffered and my 60' sucked because I wasn't ready to launch.

Very nice times, you may still be able to squeeze a tad more out of it too.

Dont worry bout those RTs!! Have you been trying to stall up at all? Even with a stock coverter you can stall it up to 1200-1400rpm. That should help your 60's som to have your drivetrain, and suspension preloaded ready to just "hit it" and "git it"

Yeah, I wanted to stall it up.. but my buddy staged so fast I barely had time to stall before I had to launch and I choked.

Yeah when that happens just take your sweet time, get in your zone and do your own thing. When someone does that to me I prestage then brake torque up to where I want to launch from and just bump into the lights, ready to go.

Some guys just don't know any better. I know I didn't, when I first went to the track.

Proper courtesy and track etiquite says that a driver should only prestage (turn thetop bulb only) until the other driver also prestages. Then one can bump in to turn the second light on.

I dont mind if they dont prestage cause I still have time to get the RPMs up. I learned and practiced to get my launch off fast for just that very reason. It does suck though when people dont know how to stage at all and sit in prestage forever not knowing they need to move up.
