New best - still can't hook

Last year was running 11.40's@120 with sub 1.6 60's - best of 11.46@120 on a 1.67 60'

Ran tonight and got an 11.3762@120.32 with a 1.6992 60'

That's the first 1.6 this year - all else have been mid 1.7's so far. I really wish I could launch full throttle off of this Edge 3800 but that's impossible right now.

If I can hit a sub 1.6 sometime this year she might go 0's. Best chance for a sub 1.6 is going to be June 19th - we've rented Norwalk and the track is usually VERY sticky for us. I will have my front QA1's/drag springs and chassis mount TA installed by then so hopefully it happens. I was really shooting for mid 1.5's this year but wow does this converter hit hard.

What tires are you using? We have a bunch of people stepping up and running the 325 50 15 M/T DRs in the mid/high 9s with 1.3X 60's. They seem to be the hot ticket around here if you can pull those big/taller (almost 28") tires. You'll love the chassis mount TA, too...Good luck. I hope my next track outing puts me in your league...I'd kill for a 120mph...

Re: New best - still can't hook

Thanks Alan, i'm running 275/50/15 BFG DR's. The problem is that I need to relearn how to launch the car with this new converter - combine that with a fresh 3 week old repaved track. Gonna try again tomorrow night if the weather holds here.

Beg, borrow, or steal some 275 50 15s in the M/T DR...There's a huge difference in how they hook...I just put Bogarts and 275 50 15s on my car and holy crap! They even stick on the street! If the weather holds we have a track rental this Friday and we'll see what they do on a prepped track...

Next step in the traction dept is a fresh 12bolt/9" with 3.73/3.70 gears and some 27x11.5x15 Hoosier QTP's.

That should hook.

Hey Darkhorse, did you ever run your combo without the blower,if so, what did it run? Are you still on the stock bottom end? Do you think it is possible that you have too much converter for the blower?

I still think 325 50 15 M/T radials would work great and ride nicely on the street, too...Plus, they look outrageous from all angles...Good luck hooking that thing...

NA it ran a best of 12.360@110.82 - I may have been able to eek another .1 or so but the blower came along fairly early so I didn't make it to the end of the year (good weather) NA.

Stock bottom end - stock heads - the car does have a small cam tho.

Converter may be too big as suggested. Andre at Edge even told me that it may be too big if the car is street driven BUT - it's at the track more than the street so I decided to stick with the 3800 as is. Over the Winter I may have to address the converter size if all else fails.
