Talking New best (see sig)

Some new stickies gave me a new best. It's amazing what you can do with an untouched LT1 in a light car. I still have the stock rockers and stock throttle body too. I really need a cage now.

Congrats, that's moving for a stock LT1. BTW, what did you remove to get a 3050lb raceweight?

I would also be interested in hearing. I was planning on removing my AC, heater core, fan, and speakers this winter. I am getting the BMR front end part to lose some weight, too. Any other suggestions?

How do you go so fast. I can't do better then 104.5 in the quarter.

Like the sig says, the car is gutted. It last tipped the scales at 2810#. I basically took out everything not needed for drag racing since I'm planing to make it a full time drag car. The A/C compressor was leaking so I took out the air box, a/c system, power steering, etc., and gained about 3 tenths in the 1/4. With the elec. wp I'm only running the alternator off the crank which would explain the higher trap speeds. The tranny/converter setup contributes a bunch to the low 60-ft times. I'm currently having traction issues since it launches so hard. I'm gonna try some different (softer) shocks in the rear. If that doesn't help I may have to go to a 28" tire. I REALLY need a cage but I hate to add weight since the car feels so good right now.

Every 100# is about a tenth off.

That is amazing! My car still has most of the creature comforts but I still don't tip the scales too bad at 3350 w/ me in the car. 3200 just for the car since I'm a huge 150 lbs. Next to get yanked is the hvac and a few other things.

Thumbs up

Congrats Dave, that is simply AWESOME!!! I'm sure as the weather gets better you'll be the 2nd person to run 11's with just bolt-ons & free mods... not to mention I'm POSITIVE you'll blow past my 11.94!!! Keep it up buddy.

You may want to rethink that ...

Thanks a bunch Steve. I'd like to put on a throttle body and the 1.7 rockers and see if I can go deep into 11's but I'll need a cage since Sac raceway is less forgiving these days. I'm trying to buy my first house right now so the major car projects will have to wait a bit. Maybe I'll put the TB on that I have and see if I can get kicked off the track at the next grudge night. BTW it was still 75-80 degrees when I hit a 12.050 so I think shes got a little more in her. As the night got cooler I couldn't improve my times because of the traction issues. Hopefully I can get that worked out. When the converter flashes, it hits like a ton of bricks and breaks the tires loose. I need to change the rear shocks to get a little give (they are too stiff right now) and it should hook up better. Or I could go to a bigger and wider tire but that will slow me down.
