New best

I installed 1.6 RR's and LT4 springs the other day and had to see what she would do.

1/8 mile track:
Best was 8.8@ 77 mph with a 1.98 60 ft.
With the New RR's and springs 8.7@ 81 mph with a 1.92 60 ft.

Now to look for some traction. This is stock A4 car and can only leave at 800 rpm max. What is a good DR size and brand, car has 3:42 gears.

A mild stall converter (2400-2800) would really improve your 60 ft times and lower your 1/4 mile ET possibly by 2 to 3 tenths. Also, 3.73 gears with low-profile 26" ET Streets will further improve your 60 ft times and overall ET.

Car a 6 speed? 3.42 gears are not stock in an auto. What all mods do you have? Any suspension mods?

You are right I have 3:23 gears, had the GN on my mind. The car is stock with a PCM tune, LT4 KM and now the 1.6 roller rockers and LT4 valve springs, it is set to shift at 5800 rpm's. With the new LT4 valve springs I am going to up the shift points and see what that does. I hope to get on the dyno to see where I am at soon.

Thanks

Agreed, one of the better bolt-on mods for the money.

That is all I can leave at and not go up in smoke, and it will still break loose at the top of first and top second gear. It is time for some DR's. I am happy about picking up 4 MPH in the 1/8 with the RR's and springs. My PCM tune was done on the dyno and it put down 267 HP to the wheels. I can't find the dyno sheet to get the TQ numbers. I can't wait to see what she will put down now.

Bone stock it would run 14.3 @ 97 MPH in the 1/4 with the air at 4800+ (Bristol)
The 1/8 was 9.1 at 76 MPH.
Then a friend of mine from one of my classes did a dyno tune for me and he got the 267 HP out of it. At the track I ran an 8.9@ 77 MPH, a good pick up.
Oh, by the way my friends name is Alvin, yes the PCM's forless Alvin, how luck can one get. I also only live 10 miles from AI.

Here is the tool I used:

Went back to the track today and went 8.6 @ 81.5 MPH with a 1.90 60'. The big news is my girlfriends car, 99 Z/28 with a Dyno tune by Alvin went 8.5@ 85 MPH with a 1.96 60'. Mods to her include air lid, K&N, and a slowmaster cat back (install by the last owner). Her car has an A4, 2.73 gears and stock tires to boot. It put down 290 HP and 325 TQ on the dynojet. I need to either get the engine back in the GN or get a converter and long tubes for the TA, I have to have the faster car one way or another.
