New Best!!!!

I finally was able to make some passes at a well prepped track during a local track rental...new best:

60'.....1.55
1/8.....7.31
MPH....93.08
1/4.....11.51
MPH....118.18

LPE 383 with small Joe Overton cam, E.B. Ported LT1 heads previously done by LPE, shorty headers, Borla cat back, Stock springs/Decarbons, Hotchkis welded SFCs, Hotchkis panhard bar, Spohn tunnel brace mounted TA, Spohn LCAs with rod ends, both sway bars in place, Strange 12 bolt, 3.73s, 16x8s all around with 255 50 16 M/T Radials. This thing looks bone stock and flies...I think some one got some video which I'll try to post..The car was very consistent once I figured out how to launch it. 60's were 1.55-1.57 with ETs from 11.51-11.54, MPH stayed at 118....I can finally update my sig....

Re: New Best!!!!

Thanks...I'm thinking about going with Kooks 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 LTs this winter...I talked to Joe O. today and he didn't know that I was running shorties...He thinks the Kooks stepped would work well for me....But the LPE shorties ain't doin so bad either....I'm almost afraid to change anything....

Re: New Best!!!!

sweet times, very consistant et's with drag radials at that. Those 60 foots are nice, tells me I still have a ways to go before I even need to switch from the MT drag radials to slicks. Those kooks are pretty badass too...I wish I had the money to spend on em, but right now I need to focus on other mods (IE: converter and nitrous)

I'm glad to see everything is finally coming together for you. Iv'e been following your progress ever since you decided to freshen up your top end. Very nice results, not that what you had before was anything to sneeze at. I have one question though. Have you ever mentioned how many miles are on your LPE short block?

Re: New Best!!!!

42,000 miles on short block and still kickin'....I was afraid to tear into it once we did the compression and leakdown tests...Everything was well within acceptable specs and I've seen the horrors of a bad ring pack and stuff like that, so we just left it alone...

Re: New Best!!!!

The LPE shorties are 1 3/4 stainless newly Jet Hot coated with 2 1/2 collectors mated to a random Tech Y with gutted cat to a Borla run with no plates...I'm thinking that the Kooks 1 3/4-1 7/8 with 3" collectors and 3" Y may be the ticket for some 11.30-11.40s at 119-120...It'll be my winter project...
