Re: New Best...11.9

Brian do you have an email addy that I can send you a video of my car launching??? The converter is supposed to have a 3.0 STR says Yank. The converter I have is a 9.5 But as you say I am thinking its not real efficient on the big end......

Re: New Best...11.9

yeah, projectz28@comcast.net

I thought the SS was a 10" converter? I could be wrong... But a 3.0STR will hit the tires harder but wont be as efficient on the top. You have good MPH but you may be loosing some thru the SS up top. Either way its not a bad choice in my book. Your stall is right where it should be for that cam. You could go a little more but it wont be as street friendly. I bumped my ST to 4000 and its a huge difference over the 3500. I lost some up top but gained it down low on the line. My reaction times and 60's seem to be more consistant with it. And for a bracket car thats what I wanted.

What are you using for tires/wheels?

Re: New Best...11.9

I am using 15x10 Draglites with 275/50/15 BFG drag radials.....I have some MT ET street radials but I have the fear......I have Vig that is going to be restalled to a 4000 Might try that....Just to see.....Thanks Frank95Z & N20DAVE
As far as streetability it ussually only sees it when the big events come into my home track (Beech Bend) or my trips to and from the track...thats about it.....I think I will try the Vig once or twice just for the heck of it....See what happens

I still have a ways to go to catch up to you Frank, but I have to say that if you sit on the side lines for too long you might be playing catch up again

There are a few guys including myself that are only a few tenths off of your CZ28 record. I realize that at this level every tenth is that much more difficult to get... but not impossible.

To this day I still love to see the look on people faces when they find out small cam in an LT1 can run some decent numbers

Keep up the good work everyone!!

Re: New Best...11.9

No doubt Brian. I bought Frank's old AS&M headers and was running 12.30's with the Hotcam setup and now I run 11.20's@120mph with a CC306/ported LT1's N/A then 10.17@133mph with some n2o. Just think Frank used to kick my butt. What happened Frank? I used to go the same track as him and would always go watch his car make a pass when he ran 11.60's or so and wanted badly to get my car into the 11's N/A but now I am shooting for 10's N/A and 9's on the spray. Speed is really addictive huh? Good luck guys and see youll at the track. Clint

Re: New Best...11.9

Nice times! Especially with the cc305! Are you still running the stock rear?
I am looking to get similar times at the end of May, but with the CC306.

Clint Now you're not showing any repect for the old man What do you mean what happen to me. I still run the same combo that you saw 3 yrs ago. You now have a 355 with ported heads, more converter and a bigger cam than me and you're .16 quicker than me. You guys did get me to working though my car lost 67#s this week and I have a Joe O cam that I plan on trying with stockheads and a Geoff Skinner tune. Stay tuned Frank95z

Re: New Best...11.9

I think the Stock 10 bolt is gonna hold the M/T street radials, Got a new best 60' with them.....1.61 ....11.92@113.35.....I wonder if it would benefit me to weld in my Relocation brackets...I noticed you have yours welded Brian....Just to stiffen it up some....Whatcha think??? Oh yeah my 4000 will be in next time out....I can't wait.....I'll keep everybody posted

Re: New Best...11.9

Ben, my 10 bolt is about as strong as it can get. GM gears, solid pinion spacer, auborn style posi, studs kit, girdle with preload bolts. I welded the axle tubes to the center section to keep the tubes from moving in the center section. Stock axles and 3" studs. I belive you can buy c-clip eliminators for a 10 bolt aslo but I figured if it breaks with all I have done then I will be putting a 12 bolt in anyway...
