new best @ Gateway, GIR

this was my best run of the night (3rd and last pass), botched the launch a little bit...
2.264-60ft
5.904-330ft
8.872-1/8 @ 83.01mph
11.401-1000ft
13.511-1/4 @ 106.81mph

my best 60ft of the night was my first run, 2.023 but i messed up the 2 to 3 shift, I still managed a 13sec pass tho on that run.
first run of the night...
2.023-60ft
5.684-330ft
8.902-1/8 @ 79.38mph
11.552-1000ft
13.729 @ 104.00mph

this is my 2nd run, completely screwed the launch
2.371-60ft
6.101-330ft
9.122-1/8 @ 81.50mph
11.700-1000ft
13.849-1/4 @ 104.91mph

I guess the car has more in it, i just need to become a little more consistent on the launch

what do you guys think? critique it please!
my mods are...SLP CAI, Hooker LT's, OR y-pipe, Loudmouth, Moser 12bolt 4.10 gears, BMR k-member and lower a-arms, 275-40-17 BFG KDW's, no reprogram or anything
besides the crappy 60ft do my times seem about right or what?

Steve

EDIT: I never shifted higher then 4th gear either, i had my rev limiter raised to 6400 and figured shifting into 5th would waste more time, I was at the VERY very top of 4th gear

Judging by your mph, its about right for your mods. You need better tires (slicks or DRs) to make your 60fts lower and more consistent and you'll need an aftermarket shifter if you have trouble missing gears.

What's your rpm when you go through the traps. With 4.11s and stock height tires I'm at ~6000rpm but at 116mph. I find it strange that you have to go into 5th with 4.10s at just 106mph

A 12 bolt and no slicks? Get that thing to hook and start running some high 12's.

Yup, it's time for some stickies. That'll make a big difference.

i didnt use slicks cause i lost my damn locking lug key

yeah i thought most guys had ended up shifting into 5th gear with 4.10's? I didnt tho i just held 4th out, i think had my rev limiter been at the stock setting i might have hit it right towards the end of the run!? i also forgot to mention i have an SLP short throw but i think its time to step up to a real one tho like the pro 5.0 or something!

what size slick tire would anyone recommend for me? i have a chance to buy some 27" Hoosier slicks for a decent price

I might try MAR on the 25th with some slicks if i can get the locking lugs off in time

Steve

it would be nice to dip into the 12's

EDIT: both of my 2.2+ 60fts were bogging outta the hole not spinning, my 2.02 i spun ever so slightly, the car seems to really pull on the top end especially in 4th gear

Good times steve

btw...the easiest way to get the locking lugs off without the key is to beat a sparkplug socket over it and remove it that way....had to do it with my car when I bought it.
