new 3000 stall, need help launching!!!

i added a Hughes 3000 stall and im going to the track next week. i really want to get the best 1/4 times from this setup, but i need help launching. last time i went i couldnt get into the 13's because of my tires that just wouldnt hook in 1st and 2nd gear. now that i got the stall im getting some E/T streets to take advantage of it. how should i launch it, should i just gun it or should i stall the car up? i stalled my car to 2500 on street tires in my driveway, how much should i see on the slicks? my previous best was a 14.3@97 w/ a 2.2 60ft(spinning off the line), what would my times look like if i hooked and cut a 1.9 60ft w/ the stall? also when i bought the stall i got a 14,000lbs cooler almost free, is this enough for my setup or should i upgrade to a manual fan in front of the cooler?

There is no set rule. Each car and converter combo are different. You'll just have to experiment. Start out stomping it from idle, then 1000, then 1250, then 1500, ect. Just see which nets the better 60'.

waiting for some e/t streets before i go to the track. i stalled my car on street tires when i first got my stall it was around 2200-2400 RPM before it spun so you should be good.

Hey I went through this, let me help. I was breaking it till right before the tires slipped and then flooring it when the light changed. My 60fts were worse than my old. I was freaking! After several times I explained to a pro racer and he said I was doing it wrong. He said let it idle then 1 light earlier floor it. I did that and my car lunged into the 1.7s 60ft. So the 3000 stall knocked off 2.2 tenths in the 60ft. Which was what I hoped for. Good luck

That depends on the make, stall rpm, STR, hp, and torque of the motor. Vigilantes tend to work better flashing from an idle. Yanks like to be stalled up as far as they will go. Don't know about the other brands. Like I said earlier experiment to find what's best for your combo.
