Need opinions on my next move!

I want to upgrade in the power dept., but money is tight. My current setup consists of a 0.030 LT1 with forged pistons, eagle H beam rods, and the factory crank, and it's all been balanced. The heads are factory LT1's that have been ported to flow 270 int @ .600 and 195 exh @ .600 with 2.00/1.57 valves. The cam is a custom grind, 228/236 .544/.568 with 1.6 rr. Would I be better off to just upgrade to LT4 heads and intake and a larger cam with this setup or build a econo 383?
Now on the other hand, if a 383 were to cost say 8000 dollar I might as well really bite the bullet and go way in debt and get what I really want a 427 sbc and just run a carb. I can get one of those from Bill Mitchell for around 10,500 carb to oilpan. Anyway, what do you guys think, am I nuts or what?

Ya, I had a NW wet kit and sold it, but was looking at the NX Gemini Twin kit. Is it any good?

I would either go NX route or pull the engine put some 10.1 slugs in there and get a used T-trim for about $2,000 and you will whip the pants off most N/A 383. Either way you could get deep into the 10's with nitrous or a blower without touching your crank and rods 355" with nitorus or a blower will make awesome torque. JMO Later Clint

That's cool as hell alvin! Bob was telling me a little about what you were doing, I know it took alot of work. I'm going to try and get down to Bob's soon, maybe I can get you to look at my program and see if there is any more that we can get out of it.
