need lower 60'

ok so i have a 2800 stall...cc306...full exhaust and cutout...tune...lca...and kumhos...
but i have stock gears...

i did my burnout and got to the line staged got on the brakes and stalled it out...3rd light let off the brakes and went, i was dead hooking every run i stalled to
1500 ... .900 r/r and 2.10 60'
2000 ... .603 r/t and 2.02 60'
2200 ... .557 r/t and 2.08 60'

2200 was the highest i could get it to stall and the brakes still hold! any higher the car started to pull foroward!
why cant i run a 1.8 or so 60' like everyone else...i wasnt spinning...are my
gears just too fat?

how u think it would be with 3.73

and what times should i be running at 86mph in the 1/8
daniel

Do you know what gears you have, 2.73 or 3.23s? Also, I'm guessing a good set of DRs will help you break the 2.xx 60'

Re: need lower 60'

I can't possibly see how you are dead hooking with 2800 stall and 306 cam on street tires unless you are bogging bad.kumos are not going to dead hook.

I can get 1.95 so far best on my nitto drags with 2800 vig,3.42 gears and minor mods no headers ,cam or heads. I can easily spin the nittos if don't heat them up first. I can't get 1.7 or 1.8 so far. I think I need more power to be able to get any better 60ft. My car is also heavy and am at 1900 feet above sea leve. Sure that stuff don't help.

Re: need lower 60'

kumhos were hooking...i heated them and the track hooks great...exspecially at 12 psi...i have 3.23 and all i could get was that 2.02...i wanted to get at least a low 1.9 but i guess with some 3.73 i could get a 1.7x
car seemed to jump hard...but it was like the 3.23 are too fat to go faster...
i will have some et streets but i didnt even think they would help any...

o yeah and what do yall think i would run in the 1.4 if i ran an 8.4 las nite

My little bro's ls1 could only manage a 1.9 60' with et streets, 3.23s and a 5k clutch drop.

Get some gears, that would help you out more than anything i think...oh and tires.

Re: need lower 60'

The gears and the small converter for a 306 is what is killing your 60's. It may have something to do with your tune also. That cam needs a 3,500+converter and it shouldn't hookup on radials anymore. My car with the same CC306, 3.42's, 26x10" slicks and a 4,000 converter went 1.5 60's on motor. Later Clint
