Need Help

First i want to say im new here, ive watched the forums for a while and decided to join, and i need advice.

I'm 15 and bought a chevy small block off my boss for 100, it needed rebuilt and i needed a project, im half way done building the motor and now im looking for a car to throw it in. I really like 3rd gen f-body's and know i can find one with out a motor. I also like the 4th gen's but i know finding one with out a motor is going to be hard. Its going to be my daily driver and i plan on dragging it almost every weekend(not on real dragstip). What do some of you recommend on what kind of car i buy for the motor???

i posted on the drag racing thread because i didnt kno where else to post it, if i was sposed to post it somewhere else my bad

I think it will be generally easier and less expensive to find a third gen, and I strongly suggest to revise your "dragging" plans to limit that activity to a real drag strip. With speed comes responsibility. You can be a statistic or you can be a player. Players go to the track.

Is a clean paved road that was closed down a couple years ago and a bunch of people go and drag there all the time, its not in traffic or anything, ands its probably more than half a mile long if there was an open drag strip for street cars around here ide much rather go there, but there isn't.
But im thankful for the advice and the look out.

If it was me I would build that 350 into a 383 and drop it into a Fox Body with some spray. I know I know its evil to say that on CZ28.com but hell that little car and big Chevy power = good times!!

All is good. However if you have ever seen a car fire those five minutes will make all the difference between life and death. A flat tire, a racoon, a blown tranny at speed.... I have seen a lot of people, including myself, get into trouble when least expected and had the ambulance not been on site and waiting to go many more people would be dead.

I hear you loud and clear about closed roads and no cops, but what I am basically asking is whether or not your life is worth the thirty bucks to go to a track where you have a reasonable expectation that the driver in the other lane doesn't have a beer between his legs and his lug nuts are accounted for...

i understand, if there was a track around here who charged 50 bucks ide rather go there but what im sayin is theres only one track about an hour away and they only open for special event, and they usually don't let pedestrians drag. So i ono maybe i wont drag it, on account of all the warnings im getting but the tread itself was to see what kind of car everyone would think is better for me to buy, a 3rd gen f-body, a 4th gen f-body, or something totally different?

and plus at a track u get all ur times and u kno its a fair race....no jumping etc... people love the track mostly because they can visually see there progress and its accurate...well i kno thats why i wanna go to the track

I believe the third gen is a bit lighter weight and should probably be less expensive so i'd be looking there rather than a 4th gen... It all depends upon the quality of the car and the deal you get.
