Need Help

I need to find an excuse to go the track. All of my friends went last nite but my parents wont let me. My father would bet his life i gonna blow my engine. The thing is i always get caught driving stupid on the street. I have a stock 99 3.8 camaro and i wanna see what it runs and i just want to race for fun.

Any advice would help

Explain to your father that it is much safer to race at the track than on the street, and it is not any harder on your engine than running WOT on the street.
Maybe try something like promising to behave on the street if you can go to the track once in a while.

For the first couple years of racing my dad had trouble with me going racing as well. Till about a year back I just went and never told him (I'd been racing for 3 years w/o my dad knowing); racing was too important to me to not go.

Finally I had him come down with me and now he and my mom go with me pretty often when I go out to race

Doesn't really matter what he thinks anymore anyways considering I'm married and moved out, but he has a good time now when he goes out

trust my dad gave me crap about it when i was going 13.50s with a stock car.....he HATES the thing with a passion now that it sits on drag radials and sounds like a 747 but honestly theres no reason why u should blow a 3.8 up from going to the track......he's just being practical....best thing to say is just tell him u just want to try something new and that racing on a track is actually really safe (compared to the street that is)...
