Motorcycle at the Drags??

I posted this in the lounge as well, but figgured I'd give you guys a shot too.

My buddy has a Honda CBR600 he wants to run at the drags here. on the website for the track, it says he needs a Leather jacket & Leather shoes.

He says he has a jacket for riding, but it's make of kevlar or somethin to that effect, will that pass?

Also, do you need shoes specificly designed for motorcycles? or will any leather hi-top shoe be ok?

Thanks a lot!

Steve

Yes the Kevlar ballistic jacket wil pass tech, unless the track is completely ****. As far as shoes,i havent sen much trouble there, most guys wear workboot's or leather high tops.

He will also need a killswitch, and most tracks do not allow an eyelet screwed into the on/off switch with a bungee cord anymore,so just buy a good 1.

You need a lanyard hooked to a kill switch only if running quicker than 10.99. A proper kill switch is a momentary switch that's held closed with a special cap. When the lanyard pops the cap off, the switch pops up and breaks the ignition circuit killing the engine. This type of setup doesn't have the rider attached to the bike with a permanent cord.

Footwear must cover the ankles. The Kevlar jacket will pass easily. You'll also need leather gloves. Full leathers are required if running quicker than 120 mph. Two piece suits must be joined together with a zipper at the waist.
