Moroso drag spring

i posted this in the suspension section but noone answered so i figured id try here.

i was looking at the moroso drag springs for the front of my camaro (80). It says that they should only be used for drag racing. Does anyone have experience with these? i was wondering if they could be used on the street? I figured they said that only because it would be a rough ride, or they lose there spring after a while. I would use them for mostly street with strip every now and again. Also does anyone know of a good leaf spring.

Re: Moroso drag spring

they ride very floaty or bouncy, kinda like an old 70s cadillac after all these years. can make the steering feel loose if you're on a bumpy road. That is what they mean.

A Bigger Tire Will Raise The Front Of The Car To Put More Load On The Rear Quicker.DOING THOSE THINGS IS CHEAPER.

Re: Moroso drag spring

I would not call it bouncey per old cadillac comparison, but she does like to shoot up when you give it gas.

Been driving mine for 2 yrs on the street and just took getting used to like ANY suspension modification and wa the best thing i ever did to aid in consistant 60's for minimal investment and easy of installation.

Wanna do wheelies on the street these will get you on the right track...been there dont that

He doesn't mean a wider tire, he means a taller tire.

Re: Moroso drag spring

Is your car a daily driver? If so you need to evaluate how far you want to go with mods because you will lose driveability.

If your 80 Camaro is a weekender or a sunny day driver then trick springs, skinny's, losing the sway bars and a set of Cal-tracs will help with your 60' time. Of course if your doing this on a street tire it's all for nothing.

Does that make any sense?

Yes they do - you can find them on moroso's website or ebay - $80/pair on Ebay.

For the LT1 car (F-Body I assume) you may want to do a front drag spring-shock combination to improve your launch. QA1 makes front drag shock and spring sets that work really well. And the front ride height is adjustable with the QA1 shocks.
