The LT1 runs 11.24@120.8mph!
Re: The LT1 runs 11.24@120.8mph!
Thanks guys I was going to go either blower or turbo b/c I was having bad luck with engines so I sold my heads/cam, intake and injectors to build a low compression engine when I came across this killer set of heads and the old CC306 and decided to give it a shot. Also my wife was complaining about me buying a blower/turbo, tuning, new heads, intake, cam etc.. so I jumped on the deal and the car has never run so good on motor. Having a good PCM tune and 60' times are what makes these cars really start to fly I can tell you guys that much. Later

My next time out ,I plan on running a set of 26's too. The 28's are killing my 4.10 gear on the bottom end. I see where you plan on a pair of 28's in the future . May I suggest a pair of 27' Hoosiers ?? I think this will be the perfect middle of the road tire for both of us. Congrats again, man !!
Re: The LT1 runs 11.24@120.8mph!
Thanks mac but you running 28's/4.10's is still a lower ratio than my 26"/3.42 combo so I think the 3.73/28 or 27's which I also plan on trying b/c I probably won't have to cut anything to go with the Hoosiers which would be the best route and still have some more 1st gear. The 28's would be for n2o though. Later and Goodluck.

I was wondering... are you were running a T-brake? A buddy of mine with a GN is running a TH350 with a 3500 stall. I forget the difference in 60' times, but after installing the brake he knocked off about 2-3 tenths from his 1/4 times.... might be your ticket to 10s with that setup. Of course, that might mean buying a 12-bolt a little ealier than expected though.

No, I don't have a transbreak but plan on installing one in the near future(after the rear is in). I know the car is making enough power to go high 10's but it needs some more 60'. Later Clint

It's funny how the "old tech/lobe" cams like the CC306 and GM847 seem to always out perform the new CCEX lobe cams.

You guys are right those new cams don't seem to make much if any more power. My engine is about 10.5.1 b/c I am running the thicker Felpro .039 gaskets instead of the Impy gaskets. Later clint
