Lowered cars running slicks?

I was wondering if anyone on here is lowered and still running slicks. I put a set of slicks on mine and it looked like the would hit for sure on takeoff. So I took them off and didn't try.

Is it fine to run with them, do I just need the right offset rim or what is the deal.

Just depends on what size of tire you were wanting...I've had a 10.5" ET street on my car, and its lowered about 1.5"...It was about a finger width from the tire, to the lip of the inner-fender...but nothin' touched..

Re: Lowered cars running slicks?

On the stock 16x8 rims i have run the 26x16x11.5 ET streets and I am lowered with the eiback prokit. It was VERY close to rubbing on the inside of the wheel well (less than a fingers distance, so i bashed it in a tad with a hammer for added security. Never gave me any issues.

I use 26/11.50/16 on stock TA wheels. I am lowered about 1.5 and have no problems at all. If the car is jacked up the tires are close to the front part of the inner wheel well.
