Cool Looking to hit 12s with just bolt-ons

Hey everybody,

with my mods listed below and with a addition of a vigilante 2800 stall, BFG drag radials and BMR relocation brackets I was wondering if I could hit 12s with out installing a cam. I wanna hit either a 12.7-12.9. I was wondering if it is possible to do. Here is the list of mods I have in my car:

3.42 Rearend gears
K&N FIPK
Air Foil
TB Bypass
OVC Taylor 8mm Spiro Pro Wires
Mac 1 5/8 headers and Y-pipe
SLP 2 on da left Cat-Back
Hypertech 160º Thermostat
Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
Addco Endlinks
Hotchkis STB
BMR Adj Panhard Bar
Dynamic Motorsports SFC's
Global West LCA's
Prothane Torque Arm Mount
Energy Suspension Poly Transmission Mount

Any suggestions and advice would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks.

I highly doubt it. I would be guessing mid 13's (13.3's-13.6's)based on your posted numbers at best. Guessing is just guessing... Some people shave 1/2 second with a TC upgrade and another couple of tenths with gears so low 13's are not out of the question, however you need to hook up too and I have no idea of the track conditions or weather.

if the air is right and your 60ft is better than a 1.8 i don't see why not..

Not sure about that one. I have very similar mods, my headers are not installed, and i've hit the best #'s in sig on a great night. Not sure that my headers are going to drop more than .2-.3 off of my time along with a better 60' I probably still won't see a 12 second slip. Maybe with some 1.6 RR's?

Your times alone would be .3 tenth's quicker if you were to drop that 60ft down to a 1.7.. that would put you at bottom 13's... headers will add a significant amount of power.. Not 100hp but it'll go 12's.. **** if my fat *** can go 12's w/ only headers, cai, DR's,elec wp and a cutout.. why can't he? oh and it went 12.73@108.67 w/ those above mentioned mod's at 3570lbs only a 1.91.. Soits possible.. Its in the AIR...

Whats up man,

I got a Vigi 3200 in my 93 Trans Am, the car weighs close to 3660lbs with driver, and clicks of 8.79s in the 1/8 mile on 1.9 sixty foot. My car has a stock suspension, nothing changed, no LCAs, same stock 3.23s, very dead decarbons, stock 10 year old cat and stock manifolds. I run 8.79s with heavy ZR1s up front and old set of DRs on salad shooters. If you convert my 1/8 mile times is about a 13.6. That car can go 13.4 with less weight and some front runners as is easy with the same sixty foot. I need to bring my sixty down to about a 1.7, then who knows, it’ll be a bottom 13 sec car. So, I cant see why you couldn’t break 12s or better.

With that converter you will need some drag rdaials, also look in to a set of front runners.

Good luck man

Thumbs up

Those mods AND a 2800 converter, in good air... EASY 12's.
Personally I'd jump to 3.73's.

I have asked alot of questions on here and i found out threw various people that some of our stock cars are running 13.6s stock as a rock. So that person running 13.6 with light boltons and possible 26 10.5x15 ets a converter and maybe another bolt on could very well see 12.99. its not out of the question.

good luck.

12's in a bolt on LT1 arent that hard. its a commonly asked question. My combo was

SLP CAI
SLP air foil
Hooker LTs
Custom 3 in true duals over the axle w/bullets
March Under drive pulley
MSD Dig 6 w/wires
NGK TR5s
160* stat
HPP III (used only for Tstat, rev limiter, tire size)
Mez elec WP

Weld Prostars
skinnies front
27x12.5 Hoosier QTPs rear

only suspension mod was front sway bar delete. the rest of the susp was BONE STOCK. car was just shy of 3700 with driver and is a convertible. car made about 293rwhp on a Dyno Jet

1.90 60
13.01 @ 106mph

so damn close. this was in 80 deg weather with somewhat high humidty. the car kept going faster as the night went on and the air cooled. The track closed before I could rip off a 12. The 1.90 60' was severly bogging due to the lack of gears. A set of 4.10s would have put me in the 12's all day in lousy air. This was the only time the car went to the track on this combo
