I went to the track for the first time with the Trans Am, and I'll say, it's a ton different than the camaro. Obvious first things, being stock it didn't quite pull like the Z did. Still putting 22mph up on the big end, but it's 2-3mph slower than the Z28. But again, to be expected.

But something else, The Z was on Nitto 555r's. The TA sits on Kelly Charger TR's (yes T rated!) 245/50/16s. They were on the car when I bought them. Can't afford new ones just right now, so I gotta make do. My best 60' of the night was a 2.2, en route to a 13.5 @ 105. Knowing the rule of thumb about 60' times and the 1/4, a good 2.0 60' should put me down in the 13.2 range, not bad, bone stock 99 TA. But I couldn't figure out how to launch last night. Stupid thing launches like a FWD monster lol. Any ideas?

I couldn't figure it out. I either spun like crazy or bogged down, couldn't get it right. and yes, TCS was OFF!

The only way to avoid spin/bog is to abuse the snot out of the clutch. Start about 1/2 throttle and control the Wheelspin by slipping the clutch. Smells bad and wears it out pretty quick.

Heres how I pulled my 2.0 on streets.
Clicky

Now I am running on a second hand Spec II and will be borrowing a 12 bolt/slicks soon. I will report back when I have results.
