Launching an A4 w/street tires
Launching an A4 w/street tires
Have not been to the track in years.
Even longer since I've done so on street tires.
The Hawk will see it for the first time in the next week or two.
As soon as the heads/cam are on and tuned
I'm running 3200 Stall and 3.73s on an A4 with street tires.
She'll put ~375 or so to the rear wheels.
Lowered on sportline springs (was that way when I got it) and adjustable shocks.
Running tubular panhard rod, boxed LCAs and stock torque arm.
Any tips on launching this car?
Adjustment suggestions for the shocks? (currently set to "like a sheet of plywood")
It'll be at KCIR (Kansas City), which is something like 800ft above sea level if that matters any.
Typically 80-90*, high humidity.

Re: Launching an A4 w/street tires
I never did get good at launching street tires....i would just try to find some salad shooters or something real quick and put some drs or et streets on them. 375 horse and 3.73s with a 3200 stall will be difficult to launch.

In the mean time, I'll be running on fresh Z-rated street rubber.

Sure the track will grip better, but you wont go out an spin through all 3 on your first try if you practice beforehand.
I'll get the car back with the heads/cam this weekend.
I may just have to learn to ease in on the pedal until I get DRs.
One of the local shops rents KCIR out for test/tune quite a bit.
I could probably get quite a few runs in just to practice launching.
Should I warm up street tires? (burnout) or not?
I'm not sure if it helps with that kind of rubber.

It's probably at the other track entrance.
