launching a4 with line locks

i was thinking about getting line locks but wondering if the front brakes alone would hold an a4 back with a 3600 stall without breaking the beam. anyone use them in an a4 in this manner? also, anyone know if you set up the pressure swith on the steering wheel or easy access?

Won't work. To even try to stall up you need 4 wheel brakes.

a line lock is for making the burnout easier. It wont help on launch. You need all 4 wheels locked to hold the car in place on the starting line.

Also, most NHRA bracket classes and local track rules for No-E do not allow the line-lock (front wheels only) to be used for anything other than the burn-out. Basically the rules require the car to be foot-braked at the line for the launch.

I used a TCI transbrake button on the steering wheel for the line-lock which I find convient.

If you're not planning to run an NHRA bracket class (Summit Racing Series, i.e.) it really isn't an issue. However, most bracket rules for No-E restrict the use of line-locks and trans-brakes for the No-E class.

Also, auto or air-shifters are not allowed unless they are factory. Therefore, your 4L60E has a "big advantage" with the very precise programmed shift points and consistency over manually shifted cars in No-E. And, that is one of “many reasons” I enjoy running my Z28 (LT4 396 w/ A4) in bracket racing.

What steering wheel is that, I plan on using somthing the same set up as you, except on a 6speed with a line lock and a 2step.

Frank from cpt told me that you can get a trans-brake for the 4l60e/700r4, but they aren't the greatest and you would be better off just footbraking it.
