launching?

What is the best way to launch in an A4? and how much tire spin should I have at the start when racing at the track? I am running street tires and the mods listed below. Any predictions of what I will run?

I launch off idle. Trial and error is the best initial approach. Try about 25 pounds in the rears and about 40 in the fronts.

Hey TNThub you said I should put 40 pounds in the front and 25 in the back just to clearify you mean psi in the tires even with street tires I should lower the pressure?

Yes, he means PSI, even on street tires. I went to the track on saturday with 30 psi in my rears. I netted two 2.0 60's on street tires that are bald as hell. I launched at 1500 or so. This was on Firestone Firehawk SZ50EPs. Of course, your LS1 is gonna run a hell of a lot faster than my LT1.

Yup. PSI.

Even on a FWD Lumina I had top play with the tire pressure. I had to drop the fronts to 18 pounds and put 40 in the rears to hook up.

With RWD: Stiffer in front is better for tires plus you have less rolling resistance and a slightly longer rollout.

Softer in rear. The trick is to get the sidewall to flex enough to cushion the launch without being so soft the tread pattern cups and comes off the surface. Each car is different in the exact pounds necessary to achieve this balance.
