Just thinking...

I was just thinking (o god) about some of these people that take out really light items, out of their cars so they can get a LITTLE better ET. How come those people just don't go on weight loss diet and loose some more weight? Considering they will be IN the car and it adds weight. :P

They do it for the same reason people do mods to their cars that only gain 1 or 2 horsepower. A true racer wants every hundredth of a second he can get. You go quicker by adding horsepower or removing weight. If for instance removing 100 pounds netted you a drop in your et of 1/10th of a second then removing just ten pounds would drop your et 1/100th of a second. That might be the difference between a 13.00 anr a 12.99. It's worth it to me.

Funny that you started this thread. I have put myself on a little bit of a diet, getting ready for the racing season. I started thinking that it was a little crazy to invest in titanium wheel studs and then gain ten pounds over Christmas.
The Camaro weighed 2975 lbs at Rockingham with me in it. That's with an LT4, full interior panels, factory driver seat, no passenger seat, pin on hood, front and rear energy absorbing material still in. I really couldn't find anywhere else to take weight out legally, so I had to start looking at myself!

I might have to add weight to my car when it's done so it runs 10.0's.

Just put me in it. That will slow it down.

Make Rick buy you dinner.

Bracket the jeep.

Don't be such a girl and make the jump into the 9's

Listen here, pal...
I'm not a girl when it comes to driving a race car. I'm sticking in the 10's for a while because this car had drained every last penny I have. In order to go 9's I would have to buy fire pants, gloves and a neck thing, pay to get the chassis certified and pay to get my license too. I just can't afford it this year!!

That's why I'm not running in your class. I know better.

I paid off my credit card racing by a home equity loan. I can't afford to go faster than the 12's.

You wouldn't be the first girly-girl to kick my butt in a bracket race. I recall on my last visit to Atco I was sent home by a lady who cut a .500 light and hung me with it.

See at at ATCO's racers meeting in February.
It's my turn to buy the beer.
