What gears/ trans? Stock shocks? Is the car lowered? What tire PSi? I am pretty sure a 3rd gen TA will not work on a 4th gen. Give me some info before I can help you out.

ok here is the run down of the car LT1/4L60E/10 bolt w/3.23 gears/solid pinon support and girdle. the car has slp take off shocks and struts. about 10k on them I was thinking the tq arm would work if I got a new cross member for a 4th gen.

If the ET streets are old then that may be your problem. If not put the pressure at 15 lbs cold and see how it performs. You should really get some LCA relocation brackets if your car is lowered...they would really help. Might want to step up to a 27" tall tire to get more rollout and hook a little better. Try launching by flashing the converter from idle to see how that works. A rear ant-roll bar will help to. BMR makes one and so does Wolfe. Hope this helps.

tires are not really that old and I run 14psi cold. The car is not lowered. the left front tire comes off the ground about 2-3" but it still spins bad. It could be the track prep too.. I will find out this friday if it is track prep or not.

You might want to try putting an air bag in the passenger side rear spring. I would start at 15 psi.

Take Nostang 96z (Matt's) advice on the rear anti-sway bar. I was losing traction about every other launch until I got my 1" diameter roll bar. Now I can't break them loose.

The weight shifts off the drivers tire. Lose weight on one tire and they both break loose. With a strong rear bar the weight more closely evens out.

By the way I run 1.50s every launch now. Before the bar, 1.5, 1.7, 1.8.......

This is interesting stuff. Where did you pick up the roll bar from? Are you too using a right rear air bag?

Definately go with a bigger bar on the back, try running even lower tire pressure. I used to run my 16 in ET Streets at 9 psi, I got a 1.51 60 foot on them with my 6 speed car. I got my sway bar from BMR, Wolfe Racecraft makes some too. Both of them do require welding though.

I bought a Hellwig 1" bar. It's works great but I did have some fitment issues that I had to work out. Hellwig has great customer service and made every effort to help. Even sent me more parts next day air. Hopefully the problems will be solved on future bars.

I tried a passenger rear air bag with a 1LE rear bar. Did nothing. All the air bag does is make the rear sping stiffer. Does nothing to plant the drivers tire harder. Here is a pic before the bar. Way to much roll.

Air bag is still in but with zero pressure.

Lowering tire pressure is a way to improve traction but at 100+ mph those ET Streets get a little squirrelly. Best to go with a bigger bar and enough air pressure to eliminate squirm at high speeds.

I run 9" x 30" slicks. When I run bias plys I run 15 psi. With radial slicks I run as much as 22 psi. Both of my cars sixty foot in the low 1.4's.

Very few people in the NHRA stock classes run the bar, most run the air bag on the right side. I'm for one run the air bag on the right side and have pulled some nice 1.5's on it without the sway bar on the rear. The rear plants straight, have pics and video of my lanuches if you like to see them.

I just don't see the need for it when I have seen plenty of NHRA stockers run with them and no sway bar. Heck they pull some very low 60's (1.3's) with just an air bag. Not to mention adding more weight to the car.
