Arrow I bought a my own racecar yesterday!

EDIT: Too many thoughts in my head...what a title for a thread.

I posted this up in the lounge, but I thought I would share the news here too!!

A friend of my boyfriend's is desperately in need of money, so I practically stole the car from him... $3,500 !!

63 Nova
Chassis Car - tubbed
16 point cage
Ford 9" - 5.38 gears
32 inch ladder bars
Wilwood Disc brakes - all 4 corners
1 piece glass front end - flips forward

Everything in the car is new. There are more things to list, but you get the idea. It basically needs a motor and trans - but I bought the TH-400 trans from the guy also. I'm probably going to buy my dad's small block motor from him to put in it. After that it will need paint (all the body work is done) and then it's ready for the track.

I'm so darn excited!! My first 'real' racecar - all mine!!!
Unfortunately, I won't be able to do anything with it for a while because of school.

WOW That is one hell of a deal there. Just to do the mods alone on a car that you all ready own costs that much(rear end, cage, tub) and you got the whole deal. It ran us $800 to have a 8 point cage welded in our camaro.

It shouldn't take much to get it on the track, just be sure to get a rule book so you get all of the required safety equipment installed correctly the first time through tech inspection and not having to sit on the side lines the first time out.

It was one of those deals that comes along once in a lifetime!!

My dad and boyfriend will be doing most of the work and they're just about finished building my boyfriend's car so they have the rules down pretty good! I'm actually considering getting it certified to run 9's so when I'm ready to go quicker I just have to get my license.

Brackets. I plan on putting it in the 10's to start. I figure I'll spend a year or so in Heavy - getting used to the car and then maybe put a delay box in it and step up to Super Pro. I'd also like to get my license at some point (after I'm comfortable with the car) and put it in the 9's .
