How much of a change by going to 3.73's
Hey guys, I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but I'm wondering how much of a change I could expect by switching from 2.73's to 3.73's? Just trying to decide if I should do gears or headers...
Thanks,
Keith

well I have the stock optional 3.23's and you can definetly notice a difference off the line with them. So I can only imagin the 3.73s will have a much bigger difference. Why not get both headers and gears...down the line you will be getting both anyway I presume
You're correct, I am planning on both. But, I'm on a budget, so I have to do things one at a time. So after gears and headers, its RR's, then maybe a cam, an SS Hood, and Cragars...should be done around 2009.......
I think I would be saving for drag radials too if you want to use 3.73's. Your mph is pretty good already and the 1995's were less restrictive than the 1994 model that I have in the exhaust headers. Its pretty much a toss up in my opinion except that 3.73's will be weaker than what you have now and much more difficult to hook up at the starting line. Headers will help you gas mileage and mph. It's pretty much your choice. There is not a clear dependancy relationship going on between gears and headers.
Screw the gears for now, it sounds like you can't afford to get the supportig mods right now. The supporting supension mods are what really make gears fun.
If you get the headers, especially some LT's, your car should be flying on the highway. Also, they are fun all on there own and are most likely cheaper.
