ill stage mine at 1000 RPM and when i launch, ill half throttle and then when i know i have traction, mash to the floor. this method has been good for 2.0 60 footers in an all stock car, so it might work for you.

BFG Drag radials!!!!!
Kinda depends on your car. Are you stock or modded? If you are stock I would advise you to invest about 300.00 bucks in a set of BFG drag radials. If you have more money get a PI Vigilante torque converter.
Stock with BFG's you can hit it WOT off the line and get a solid hook. Probably the same with a 2800 stall torque converter BFG's hook well.
If you are modded get some Hoosier quick time pro's!
If you can't do this then do as stated above in previous post. learn your car and drive the track, pedaling the throttle.
