how to launch

hey, I'm new here and I have a question. I am wanting to run my car for the first time and am wanting to know what the best rpm to launch at and how to come off the clutch. I have a 97 ss slp lt1. mods are: k&n filter for the ram air hood, msd 6a box, diamond tube subframe connectors, aluminum flywheel, zoom street/strip clutch, headers, borla cat-back, vortec intake elbow, 160 t stat, voltage booster, holley 52 mm throttle body, throttle body coolant bypass. I'm on radial tires too

You probably haven't gotten an answer, because there is no one way. It's more of an art. Each car and driver are different, each track is different, and each day is different. The best advise is to go out and practice, go early, run often.
Some people like to slide their foot off the clutch pedal sideways, others like to lift their foot. RPM's depend a lot on conditions. Doesn't really matter what RPM's you start at the first time. If your to high you'll just spin, if to low you'll bog or stall. Same with shift RPM's, most start shifting to high, but it doesn't really matter. You'll soon learn whats best if you try different methods.

For a starting point hold the rpms at 2000 rpms dump the clutch and squeeze the gas pedal to the floor quickly. If it boggs go up in 500 rpm
increments. When it spins too much and slows down back off 100 rpms
each try till you find out what works best.

thanks for the advice. I used to have a truck that I would run but it was an auto, I'm kinda new to dragging in a stick. I've messed around on the street just a few times with some mustangs, but I'm just shooting for as good and et as I can get, not as easy as killing some 4.6 liters lol
