I was just trying to "correct" a buddy of mine's E.T.
He has a 2000 A4 Z28. He has a Lid, 3.73's, Mac Headers, Off Road Pipe, Trans-Go, Loudmouth Catback, Hot Cam, PCM4LESS Tuning, Free Mods, and Street Tires
ANyways, we lined up one time at the track, and he ran 13.70 @ 111 w/ a 3.0 60'
He is hoping for a mid-high 12 when he puts on some ET Streets.
I was telling him that with the traps he is pulling, he should have a mid-low LOW 12 second timeslip....
does this sound right?
Just wondering if I am trippin or not!
Thanks

it is possible to pull under 2.0 on street tires. that mph is no low to mid 12's. 111mph is low to mid 13's. i bet with traction he pulls a 13.3 at 111mph or 112mph. stock ls1's trap 105-107 all day and they run 13.3-13.7

Check my sig for my time.
Thanks guys. And yes, he has ZERO traction out there
And Casper, if LS1's trap 107 STOCK and run LOW-MID 13's, then why would you say that a 111 trap is only a low-mid 13?
You are WAY off buddy. But I'm pretty sure you meant something else, didn't you?
Thanks guys for the replys!

2 more MPH would put me at 12.20.
Well first off, why put a hotcam in a LS1?? What was he thinkin'?? His MPH is low for those mods, my buddy went 12.85 110 MPH in a stock 2001 M6 SS Z28 (had a whisper lid), another buddy went 12.15@111 with a 2000 auto Z28 , it had a 4000 converter, full length headers, cutout, whisper lid, LS1 edit, that was on drag radials. As far as 60 ft on real street tires, I have gone a 1.82 on radial T/A's in a 5.0 5 speed stang, so it is possible to 60 ft on streeters if the track is good( it was GOOD that day). Stock LS1's generally MPH in the 105/107 range for auto's and 108/110 for 6 speeds, it seems he is down on power a bit.

it helps if you have tires on the rear wheels also.
j/k man but seriously thats beyond bad, a 2.0 is a bad 60 ft.
i mean you should be pullin 1.8s at least on a stock car w/ regular street tires.
just work on it and you will improve.
good luck

It's not my car, and it is also FAR FROM stock

Anyways, that was a couple months ago. Since then, he has got his PCM tuned from Bryan @ PCM4LESS and has a cutout now! He also picked up some ET Streets today, so we're in there FOR SURE now!

I told him he is good for a low 12 for sure. He's hoping for a mid 12. We'll see soon!
Thanks for the replies.

One of the local guys with a 99 SS runs 12.1 with a 112-115mph with his Hotcam and TTS headers and programming.
