hoping to run an 11 thursday

in april my car went 12.22 at 111 with a 1.74 sixty foot (drag radials). im headed back to the track thursday. im hoping to run a 11 second slip on motor. so here's what i did:

100lbs of weight reduction off the front end (HVAC, pass airbag)
fresh spark plugs (NGK-TR6 in prep for n20 later this season)
switched over to MOBIL 1 synthetic oil

the only thing that will hurt me is the temp will be 85 thursday, compared to 60 in april

DA will be around 4000, sucky race weather the altitude is only 1744.....

im guessing i will probably be around 12.2-12.3 still.....

any opinions?

the tenth you did gain by shaving some weight will most likely be canceled out by the heat, i see you running about the same, maybe quicker if you can get the 60ft down a bit.

well the weather was hot and humid about 80 degrees....and the track prep was nonexistant. The DA was 3500....
so needless to say i didnt get close to 11's.

the best pass was 12.81 at 110mph with a 2.09 sixty foot.

i could not get these DR to hook at all.
i started out with the tire pressure at 22psi and gradually down to 15psi and still no hook.

my 60's were 2.09 to 2.34

whats the trick to getting DR to hook?

Sometimes everything you try won't get a tire to hook if there's no track prep. I've seen days where even my car won't hook at all until they do some work on the starting line.

Since you played with tire pressures and still coudn't get it to hook, there's not much else you can do unless you have a 4 link suspension to change how the chassis reacts to track conditions. You can adjust it to increase or decrease the amount of weight transfer and shock load put to the tires.
