So does anyone have any hints? I was woried about launching.Should i go pedal to the metal from the start or increase pressure as i go? Im so lost, any help?

Start out slow and keep upping the ante till it spins too much.

What kind of tires do you have? I usually try to launch about 1500- 1800 with street tires. Usually end up getting a 2.1-2.2 60' and I have 2.73 gears if that helps any.

It all depends on the conditions and your car (setup & tires).

With my car and the automatic, I've tried both A) hold the brake and launch off idle, and B) hold the brake, stall the tranny upto ~1200-1500 rpm (just before the converter wants to lock) and launch from there.

Both methods have worked for me, although for Reaction Time consistancy, I think that stalling up the tranny is probably best (you're pre-loading the whole driveline this way, so there's almost no delay when you take your foot off the brake, and there's less stress on the drivetrain as well).

Depending on how hard your tires hook (or don't hook!?) then going off idle might be better for quickness, but then again, if the tires don't hook, that extra shock is likely to break the tires free, so you're best to stall the tranny up so that then you can have more control over any wheel spin (if the wheels do spin excessively).

Basically, you'll have to "trial and error" your first few launches. Unfortunately there's not a single RIGHT WAY.
