Question Good stock time?

Took my car to the track for the first time on Saturday here's my best slip:

60' : 2.202
330' : 5.964
1/8 : 9.011
MPH : 81.68
1/4 : 13.774
MPH : 102.51

Is this about where I should be? This is a completly bone stock car, with 2.73's. I know the 60' is bad, but my stock RSA's don't grip well, and I had to launch from an idle (still spun pretty good). I was under the impression I should be trapping at near 105? or is that only the car's with the 3.42's?

I took my 94 z28 with 119,000 to the track this afternoon and my best numbers are below. Your time isnt bad by any means for an ls1, and as you know times can always be improved. I met a guy at the track today with a 2002 ss and he had some basic bolt ons and his best was a 14.7.

60' 2.172
1/4 13.951
mph 100.764

What were the weather conditions? What's the elevation of the track? Without this info we can only guess if your times are ballpark or not.

Here's an example: My car 2000 Formula A4, 3.23s totally stock, track elevation ~700', 60°, ~30.00 baro, 55% humidity. 13.46 @ 105.++
Same car still bone stock, track eleveation ~650', 85°, 29.8 baro, 90% humidity. 13.99 @ 100.++

That's 5 tenths of a second due to weather conditions alone. And altitude is just as big of a factor.
Just the time slip numbers alone are not enough info.

I think your times/mph sounds about right. I have a friend with a LS1 A4 2.73 car. He ran a 13.5x@102-103 completely stock.

Nice time..but a lot of room for improvement. Just don't go LT1 hunting. I would say with a better 60ft you can get that 1/8th into the high 8s and run ~13.5 @ 104mph pretty easy. Its all in the driving.

It was about 50 degrees, 10 - 15 mile per hour crosswind, 60 to 70% humidity. Track is at a good elevation but i'm not sure what it's at. I did have premium in the car , and it only has 27k miles on it.

Those seem ok, but should be a bit lower. Ive seen paper filtered Ls1 A4s runnin 13.2. Some 6 spds are closer to 12s with good 60fts. I want a 13.39 this saturday, but I guess well find out then.

Cheese,
His 60' time was around a 2.4 i think. His trap speed was 95 mph IIRC. He was bound to make a few more runs but I had to leave (didnt have a helmet and broke into 13's) so I couldnt tell you if he improved.

I think it's because of the 2.73's, I really don't see my 60' getting below a 2.1 without bigger/better tires or maybe some warmer weather. How much does heat effect the LS1? I mean after the launch there really isn't much skill needed to drive an automatic, so that's the only thing I can really improve.

you should get a new gear, like a 3.42 or 3.73, that would probably help you out, the 2.73 cars I have driven feel like dogs off the line compared to the 3.23 in my car
