Thumbs up Getting quicker.........

Went to GLD today & ran a new best again. 12.45 @ 110.34 mph. My 60's still need some work. 1.73 -1.8 all day. I know that if a run a slick I may be able to get down to a 12.2. I am really impressed with the mph though. I hope I can catch Ken soon. I need to lighten this led wt up a little....... Then maybe I too can flirt with 11's with just a Hot Cam........

You need to get that 60' down,
I'm finally getting my 60's in the low 1.6's.
Lighting the car up does help.
The only thing missing from my car is the rear seat. Not needed because of the roll bar and of course the spare tire. Other than that the car has everthing else on it. I know I saved alot on going to the draglites. I'm not to sure how much I saved if any on the dual exhaust setup. I removed just about all the heat shield flashing underneath the car. Oh, and the rear seat belts are gone.

Next year the car is going on a big diet, race seats, light weight carpet, maybe a fiberglass hood....

Nice job I will be going to track very soon to get a couple new bests too with this cooler weather. All of my times were in terrible hot and humid Louisiana summer. How are you guys 4l60e's holding up, must pretty good for Ken b/c every week I see a post about going to the track. I had a few probs at the beginning with mine but since I put the Transgo in and manual valvebody switch it has been ok I just hope it holds up.

Well, the tranny has been worked on once.
It has been in the car since 7/16/01 on this rebuild.
It has well over 200+ passes on it not to mention the daily driving of it.

The car now rests because I have another daily driver, that I purchased in July of this year.

When we did the rebuild we put a better band, clutch and steels into it. I think we also stepped up the number of clutches it had in it as well. Than later we stuck the TransGo shift kit in it.

So far, knock, knock, knock on wood the tranny is holding up.

I wasn't going to awnser your question. Dont want to jinx it.. However I had it rebuilt back in '99 with kevlar bands, corvette servo & clutches. Still seems pretty tight. I need a shift kit now to really push it to its limits........ Ken.... Did you get any noticable gain from your transgo??? Or was it something that was done with the converter & other things..... Trying to see if it is a must to have one for my quest to match your times.....

Question

Ken-

Have you tried removing your front sway bar?

No gain on the Transgo that I can tell, but than again I did it to speed up the shifting.

Gabe - I did remove the swaybar many of times, It really did not matter at all. Since I did not see any gains with it I put it back on. The only gain that I could see is losing the weight.
