Front sway bar removal...(My thoughts)

I have seen soem threads on here about how people say its horrible and unsafe to drive etc.. etc...

I did it on my old 94 alot I never had any problems, My car still outhandled most pickup trucks I had driven, wasn't as crisp as my camaro was with it but not horrible.

I did it last night in my '00 where the rest of the suspension is still decent and it ran just fine no problems, car squats alot more, drivability is not bad and I even took a few corners hard and it wasn't too bad.

I normally drive full stock v6 suspension(28mm front 15mm rear sway) with Zr1s wrapped in Kuhmo712s 275/45/17

I been running no sway bar with stock 00+ Camaro V-spoke with bald Eagle GAs, 235/55/16 up front and stock firebird 5-stars, Yokoham AVS ES100 245/50/16 in the rear.

And its not that bad. Might be worse for v8 guys since you have lsd, little more power and a thicker rear sway... So oversteer might be more prevalent...

car has as much body roll as my girlfriend's 96 Cavalier.

I took mine off about 2 months ago. I could tell a little difference driving, but nothing that would cause a problem. Since I took it off I run a consistent 2.0xx 60' time.

so taking your sway bar off is directly related to your 60ft time?????

It allows better weight transfer to the rear wheels.

1st, its a few lbs. off the nose.
2nd, when you launch the car leans back then the suspension "catches" the front wheels and the car stops leaning back because it has to lift the front wheels(and you need alot of power for that)

When the front sway bar is off, it allows the front suspension to extend further thus making the front end lift higher before it starts to pull on the front wheels.

Yeah I don't see what the big deal is about removing the front sway bar...mine has been off my IROC forever and it still handles very good for daily driving. It's not like I autocross my car anyway, but it still handles better than my Tahoe.

I've got mine disconnected, haven't really pulled it off, going to this month though, and I've been pulling some nice 60's with my ET Streets.

Had a couple of folks I know tell me I was pullin' a tire off the ground last night with 1.67-1.68 60' times.
