First times with hotcam and heads.

Lastnight was my first night to the strip with the hotcam and ported heads. I only ran twice then some import blew his motor on the track

I am very dissapointed but I ran a 13.6 at 103 with a 2.1 60ft. Now it was very humid and i'm also running the stock 1.5 rockers so I'm not getting the full lift of the hotcam. Should I be dissapointed? or is this on par with it being humid and the lack of 1.6 rockers?

well the 60 foot could use some work...but to be honest with mods in sig im looking for about that time, and I dont even have headers. Seems like your down on power a decent amount.

I used to run consistent low 13's with bolt ons, 13.0-13.1 and ran a few 12.9x's in very good weather. It doesnt sound like your cars running right to me. That 60' is pretty bad for an A4 car, you should be able to get at least a 1.9 60 or better with a good stall and dr's, that would put that 13.6 run down to a lower 13.

Well, I wouldn't be too discouraged...You need to work on your 60' with practice...Humidity will kill track performance, too..I've been as much as 5 tenths off in really humid weather..Also with 1.5 rockers the HOT cam is only giving you .492" of lift...The HOT cam gives a lift at the lobe of .328" multiply that by your 1.5s and you get .492"by 1.6 you get .525"..quite significant..

I honestly dont' think the .25 of lift is really hurtin' his power That much.. think most his issues' are attributed to his tune and/or the weather.. Up north the humidity can be pretty bad.. Enough to murder his ET .5-.8 or so.. Have you got it tune correctly? Buddy of mine w/ a crappy running P/P and a hotcam car run's 13.0@106.. his heads are cracked amongst other issue's..

Dude something is NOT right. With your mods you should be running at least a full sec. faster and MPH should be around 109-110 depending on how extensive your head work is. The time in my sig is stock internals, stock ex. manifolds w. cutout, stall and DRs. You should have a quicker e.t. with just the stall, not to mention everything else. What stall do you have??

it's a small stall 2600 but it was humid and my car was running like crap that night, didn't put me in my seat like it usually does. I'll be going back on a cooler night and with 1.6 rockers and see how it goes. also saw a 03 cobra go 13.9 @ 105

Well for ref. I ran a 13.88 @ 104 with only the mods in my sig BEFORE the 4.11's! No I dont have LT's either, stock manifolds.. You should be a high 12's low 13's car.

Seriously though you need to Get your car to a Dyno TUNE.... Chances are your computer is fight with the new setup.

And the dyno will give you a idea if your car is not making power....

You should be making 315-330 RWHP and the torque should be about 375-400...

I would say you should be in the mid to high 12s...WITH proper tuning..

Those rockers are not going to solve your problem( unless you have/had a installation problem with your valve train.)

More like 34x/34x give or take. I highly doubt he'd make 400 rwtq with the Hotcam.

that is what I was going for close to 350rwhp. but my car is runing like crap, ever since I did a half *** job adjusting my rockers. (right before I ran it at the track) i'm swapping to 1.6 rockers this week hopefully.

With a good Converter.... YOur torque numbers will always be HIGHER with a Auto than a M6.... yeah I maybe a little High on the TQ.... But I know that it should dyno more tq and RWHP.... It is a LT-1 with a decent stall and MODS...

The tq is what get your car down the track anyway....

just my .02
