First time to track Wednesday need help please
Im going to englishtown , NJ, on wednesday and was wondering with around mid 70 degree weather and low to high 60% humidity wha should i be looking for with a pretty much stock car, (4.11's, injectors, cat back flowmaster, vortech intake elbow, A4 tranny)? How should i launch i can get the rpms up to near 1400-1500 rpms b4 they slip (with the brake applied) should i keep it in D or OD? Englishtown, im pretty sure is around 60 feet above sea level. Thanks guys im kinda nervous lol
Re: First time to track Wednesday need help please
If you have street tires than you will probably have a hell of a time trying to hook up with 4.11's. If you can cut a decent 60 foot than I would say you will be around 13.7-13.9. Drive or overdrive will not make any difference, I use od everytime.
Re: First time to track Wednesday need help please
I think you should probably try to hold it at 1400 ,or whatever you said without spinning the tires, Then just let off the brake. Don't floor it right when you let off or you'll just light the tires up with those gears. Just let off the brake and hold the throttle at the same position till you first get off the line.

real bad.. 1/4 14.4 @ 98.2 2.2 60'
and second even worse 1/4 14.899 @ 96.8 2.435 60', i left it in D and with my gears it ran it to 6500rpms, so i let off the gas, not wanting to put ne more strain on the engine, im going probably next week, and im hoping for at least a 14 flat or so, i just need more practice , and better 60' foots. I was really nervous like hell. And real dissapointed becuase a boat sized Inifiniti with rims beat me with a 14.45 which was not even as good as my 1st run.
All in all it was a good experience and with practice and these gears i should be able to hit at least 13.9 or so in the upcoming weeks.
